Cottage Grove, Tenn.–Thanks to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Paris Landing State Park raptor rehab center, a bald eagle was given a second chance at life.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency received a call about an injured bald eagle in the Cottage Grove area of Henry County on October 21.
A concerned citizen had moved the eagle, which appeared to be suffering from a head injury, to Paris Landing State Park at its raptor rehab center for immediate observation and care.
After a week of dedicated rehabilitation, on October 28, the team at Paris Landing State Park reported that the eagle was doing much better! The TWRA officer was able to pick up the eagle and return it to the farm where it was initially found, releasing it back to its natural habitat.
TWRA officials said, “We’re grateful to the quick-thinking citizen and the fantastic team at Paris Landing for helping us give this majestic bird a second chance!”
The TWRA video of the eagle release is on the TWRA Facebook page, as well as our Facebook pages.
