Paris, TN – The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce has announced the successful completion of a project by the 2024 Leadership Henry County Class, which provides local day cares with anti-choking devices. Through a combination of community support and teamwork, the class was able to deliver these life-saving devices to 15 local daycares last week.
To raise funds, the Leadership Class hosted a Chili Cook-Off in the spring, which brought together teams from Nobel Automotive, Ruger’s Ranch, the Paris Board of Public Utilities, Joe Mahan Ford, Henry County Fair Association, Mockingbird Catering, Holy Smokers, and Dew Drop In. With money raised through the cook-off and additional personal donations, the class achieved its goal of purchasing the devices for every local daycare that needed them.
“We’re incredibly proud of the Leadership Class and everyone who supported this project,” said Rachel Steedly. “The cook-off participants and donors made this possible, and their contributions will have a lasting impact on the safety of children in our community.”
The Leadership Henry County program fosters community service and leadership skills, encouraging participants to make a tangible difference. This anti-choking device initiative exemplifies the commitment and resourcefulness that the Leadership Class brings to local needs, and we are proud to see these values brought to life.
