
Mary R. Townsley, 91, of Union City passed away 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Magnolia Place where she happily spent the last year of her life.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Phillip Pinion will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Will Little, Jason Graves, Christopher Townsley, Brandon Townsley, Thomas Jacob Townsley, Chris Smith, Drake Little and Ethan Little.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Fondly known as Trixie by family and friends, Mary Magdalene Robertson Townsley was born September 21, 1933, in Holladay, Tennessee, to the late John Hubbard and Lois (Malin) Robertson. Her family moved to Union City when she was 6 years old. She graduated from Union City High School in 1951 and went to work for John T. Walker and Company. Mary married George Fillmore Townsley January 19, 1953 at First Presbyterian Church in Union City. George and Mary bought a little house on Waddell Street and soon after getting married raised four children. Mary had several jobs including Obion County Motor Company, Lear Siegler, and the Goodyear Service Center before going to work for the Employment Security Office where she retired in 1996. George passed away March 25, 1995. After his passing and Mary’s retirement she enjoyed traveling with several of her friends. They went on several cruises and enjoyed traveling over the state to enjoy gospel singings. Mary is a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Robbie Little and husband James of Troy and Beth Collins and husband Wray of Bartlett; two sons, Tommy Townsley of Knoxville and John Townsley and wife Stacy of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Thomas Everett Robertson and wife Carol of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
