After fighting a difficult battle for several months, Patricia Ann Roberson Shelton passed peacefully while in hospice care in Paris, TN on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. “Tricia or Trish” loved art, music, plants, and nature. She had a green thumb and a unique personality.
Born April 27, 1953, to the late James Roberson and the late Margaret Lewis Roberson, she grew up in Moscow TN. Tricia graduated high school from Fayette Academy High School in Somerville, TN. She became a well-known hairdresser for Don Pedro’s of Memphis, who sent her to study in California. Tricia also moved to New York for a few years.
She later settled in East Tennessee & co-managed cabin rentals in Gatlinburg with her former husband. She resided there for many years until losing her home to the wildfire of 2016. Patricia then moved to Kodak with her life partner of well over 30 years, Michael Lavoro, who passed in May of 2024. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Carl “Cool” Ray Shelton, a sister, Beverly Roberson Taylor, a stepsister, Carolyn (Hugh) Hodges & a stepbrother, James R. (Bonnie) Jones.
Patricia is survived by two sisters, Elaine (Doug) Brannon of Raleigh, NC, and Shelia (Keith) Fitzhugh of Paris, TN; two nephews, Allen (Oksana) Taylor and Michael (Erin) Brannon; a niece, Adrienne (James) Davis; great-nephews Tyler Davis and Robert and Connor Brannon; Cassandra Lavoro (her life partners’ daughter), by many cousins and other relatives. She is also survived by special friends, Johnathan, Cheyenne & Cameron Dodd, Joyce Gould, and Suzie Stokes Gibson.
A graveside service will be held, 11:30 A.M. Monday, October 21, 2024 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Moscow, TN 38057 (Hays Crossing Community) with Doug Brannon officiating.
“Tricia” was an incredibly strong-willed person. She accomplished much and had stories of many amazing experiences in her lifetime. She will be missed…
