Bells, Tenn.- A 37 year old man stabbed his ex-girlfriend five times yesterday as she was walking into her workplace.
Antonio Jacques Pewitte, aka Shade, who has a prior history of domestic violence – attempted to kill a woman he shares a child with by stabbing her four times in the face and one time in the forearm.
The Bells Police Department immediately obtained a search warrant last evening and attempted to locate the suspect at his residence. Pewitte was not there, however, the white Tahoe that eyewitnesses observed him driving was on the property. The Bells PD seized that vehicle and discovered blood stains on the interior of the vehicle.
Pewitte is wanted on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated domestic assault, and more charges may be forthcoming as this is an ongoing investigation. Pewitte should be considered armed and dangerous – if you see him, do not approach – call 911. We seized his vehicle and are unsure of an accurate vehicle description at this time.
Chief Kevin Ligon said, “This is a sad day for our town and we need your help. Domestic violence and the attempted killing of another is a serious crime. We are asking the public to help us bring Pewitte to justice so he can answer for these crimes committed against the victim.”
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Antonio “Shade” Jacques Pewitte, please call or text Sgt. Crawford with the Bells PD at (731) 443-0768.
