Paris, Tenn.–Due to a construction error on the grounds of the Henry County Courthouse, major communication cables have been severed.
County officials said the ability of county offices in the courthouse to communicate is interrupted for an unknown amount of time. There is currently no phone service, internet or fax capability.
The courthouse is still open for in-person business, as much as can be accomplished. As of 2:30 p.m., water was also cut off in the courthouse.
This affects all of the offices in the courthouse except the Mayor’s Office and Budget Office.
The internet outage does not affect the county offices in the annex or the county elections office, only the courthouse, according to County Administrative Assistant Treva Kellerher.
County offices are awaiting repair crews and hopefully the services will be restored by tomorrow.
