
Huntingdon, Tenn.–A Lexington man was killed in Carroll County Monday when he was struck by a train while he was mowing a lawn.
The accident happened at a private railroad crossing in the 23000 block of US 70.
CSX Railroad officials said the accident occurred at 5:19 p.m. October 14 when a CSX train came in contact with the lawnmower. The victim died at the scene; the crew on the train were uninjured.
The victim’s name has not been announced.
CSX officials extend their deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragedy. CSX will work to support local law enforcement as they continue to investigate.
