Union City, Tenn.–Union City Middle School runners Brody Fields and Madix Turner earned medals in the West Tennessee Middle School Regional Championships over the weekend and secured spots in the independent State Middle School Championships down the road.
Fields (11:28) placed eighth among 211 participants in the regionals held in Memphis on Saturday, while Turner (11:25) came in 15th for the Tornadoes in the two-mile race.
Both will now run in the independent state meet, to be held at Victor Asher Park in Knoxville on Oct. 26.
The UC boys’ team placed 10th out of 50 schools in the regionals.
Cooper Waggoner (13:07) finished 72nd, Jake Lattus (13:22) was 76th, and Nash Norsworthy (15:26) came in at No. 154.
