Huntingdon, Tennessee – Carroll County 4-H is excited to announce the Annual 4-H Chick Chain Sale, a community-wide event that offers quality poultry raised by local 4-H youth members. The sale will take place on Thursday, October 3rd at 4:30 PM, located at the Carroll County Office Complex, 625 High Street, Huntingdon, TN.
The 4-H Chick Chain Sale is the culmination of months of dedication and hard work by our local 4-H youth. Participants began raising their chicks months ago, learning valuable skills in animal husbandry, responsibility, and business. Each youth participant received a batch of day-old chicks, and through the 4-H program, they’ve nurtured these birds, ensuring they are healthy and well-cared for.
Now, these young agricultural entrepreneurs are offering their fully grown chickens to the public. Buyers can expect high-quality laying hens, known for their productivity and good temperament. Chick breeds available include [list popular breeds], all selected for their egg-laying potential and adaptability to backyard flocks.

In addition to providing top-quality poultry, the 4-H Chick Chain Sale supports the development of young people in our community. Proceeds from the sale go directly back to the 4-H members, helping them cover project costs and reinvest in their future agricultural endeavors. This event is also an excellent opportunity for community members to learn more about 4-H programs and the positive impact they have on youth.
“This sale is the perfect chance for people to get healthy, well-raised chickens for their home flocks while supporting youth in agriculture,” said Amanda Paschall, Carroll County 4-H Agent. “The 4-H members have worked hard to raise these birds, and we’re proud to showcase their efforts.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase chickens, meet the 4-H members, and learn more about the process of raising chickens and the benefits of keeping a backyard flock. This year, thanks to a donation from H&H Farms, we will be auctioning off a custom-built chicken coop. This special auction will provide money for scholarships and events and activities for the youth in our program.
