Kellye Cash of Carroll County, her brother Carey, his wife Charity and five of their children had what she described as “the great honor” of attending the Congressional Statue Dedication Ceremony to honor of Country Music Legend Johnny Cash. The ceremony was held at the Emancipation Hall in the US Capitol Tuesday.
Kellye is the grand-nice of Johnny Cash and a former Miss America. She will be performing at this weekend’s Heritage Festival in Huntingdon.
She said, “The unveiling and remarks about Johnny, his life and legacy were so moving. Carey (he’s a Navy Chaplain) gave the Invocation. It was beautiful. It was so good to see our extended Cash family. It’s not often that so many Cash family members are in the same room. It was a special moment.”
