Murray Man Charged After Punching Officer

Murray, Ky.–A Murray man was arrested on several charges, including assault of a police officer, Sunday.
At approximately 3:30am Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the emergency room at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in reference to an assault victim with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted at the residence on Rob Mason Road. Deputies went to this location and while speaking to the suspect, Kenneth Benjamin, another physical altercation took place between Benjamin and another individual.
While attempting to separate them a deputy was punched in the face. The deputy did not require medical attention. Benjamin was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.
