Paris, TN —— The Paris Board of Public Utilities (Paris BPU) will be conducting fire hydrant flushing throughout the city next week, beginning Monday, September 23 and going through Friday, September 27. This routine maintenance is essential to ensure that the hydrants are operating properly and to maintain water quality in the distribution system.
During this time, customers may experience air in their water lines and/or discoloration in the water. We recommend that you check your water for discoloration before doing laundry, as discolored water could potentially stain clothes. If you do notice air or discoloration, simply run cold water through a faucet for several minutes. The water should return to its normal state in a short amount of time.
