Paris, Tenn.–The Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission was at the Holly Fork Shooting Complex in Paris today to present a check for $50,625 to the Henry County Youth Shooting Program.
Members of the commission are from all over Tennessee and they praised the work of Holly Fork and the improvements made there.
Commission Member Monte Belew of Paris praised Tommy and Alice Scarbrough, managers of Holly Fork, for “bringing it back to life. They just do a bang up job out here.”
The Commission also has recently completed work at Holly Fork: Its heavy equipment crew was here doing dirt work to assist with the rifle and pistol range and make it more ‘user-friendly’, Belew said.
Also on hand was Frank Fiss, TWRA Fisheries Director who also was complimentary about Holy Fork. Holly Fork broke ground in 2007 “and couldn’t have done it without TWRA’s help”, Belew said.
Henry County Commissioner Marty Visser noted the Holly Fork Youth Shooting Team “is one of the biggest teams and one of the best teams in the state right now”, adding that his daughter was able to be awarded a scholarship to Bethel through the program. He also praised the work of the Scarbrough, who he described as “two great people”.
The Fish & Wildlife Commission will meet Friday at The Lodge at Paris Landing.
