George Darrell Bucy, 85, of Atwood, Tennessee, formerly of Paris, died Saturday, September 14, 2024, at his residence.
George was a retired machine operator from the former A.O. Smith, now Tower Automotive Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outside. He was a member of the graduating class of 1958 from Grove High School where he played basketball. George was a multi-gallon donor to the Red Cross Blood Bank.
He was born February 22, 1939, in Paris, TN, to the late Homer L. Bucy, and the late Carrie Sue Crouch Bucy.
George was married February 14, 1997, to Bonnie Quinn Bucy, who survives, of Atwood, TN.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two stepchildren, Terri Thomas of Westport, TN, and Larry Searatt of Dresden, TN; two sisters, Margaret “Polly” (Witt) Donald of Jackson, TN, and Jean Bucy (Rick) Owens of Paris; a niece and caregiver, Helen (Keith) Davis of Atwood; and a great niece, Jess (Cody) Houston of Atwood.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11: 00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Chad Kennedy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park.
