Mr. Bernard Earl Wofford, a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved farmer, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his home in Clarksville, TN.
Born May 11, 1929, in Ft. Henry, TN, Mr. Wofford dedicated his life to the land he loved and the family he cherished. His deep connection to farming shaped his character and spirit, instilling in him a remarkable work ethic and unwavering resilience. For decades, he worked tirelessly on his farm, nurturing the soil and fostering a legacy of hard work and dedication. Bernard’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. His relationship with God provided him strength, comfort, and a sense of purpose. He was a member of the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene, Clarksville, TN.
Bernard is preceded in death by his parents, Murray Albert Wofford and Mary Elizabeth Scarborough Wofford; his wife, Maxine Wofford; and siblings, Lacy Wofford, Sidney Wofford, Max Wofford, and Bonnie Wofford Atkins.
His greatest pride was his family. He was a loving husband to Maxine Wallace Wofford, with whom he shared 73 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised five children—Carolyn Dorris, Alfred Wofford, Gary Wofford (Connie), Mark Wofford (Kim), and Steve Wofford (Bobbie) and his legacy continues with 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. His family and friends will remember him for his kindness, integrity, and the many lessons he imparted through his actions and words.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 19, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and continuing until the time of service at 1:00 pm with Mike Borgman officiating. Burial will follow at the Wofford Cemetery. Mr. Wofford’s grandsons will serve as his pallbearers- Eric Dorris, Jeff Dorris, Nick Lividini, Andy Wofford, Greg Wofford, Kyle Wofford, Matthew Lanier, Nathan Brown, and Paul Wofford.
