Paris, Tenn.–On the evening of September 9th, the “Suicide Prevention Glow Walk” lit up Eiffel Tower Park as over 100 participants joined the 2nd annual event, organized by the Henry County Health Council.
The walk, started at dusk, featured participants in neon attire and glowing accessories, symbolizing hope, and solidarity. Along the interactive walk, mental health professionals, community partners, and survivors touched by suicide shared information, resources, and messages of hope with participants. Inspirational quotes, chalk drawings, and paper luminaries decorated by local students guided participants through the trail.
The event surpassed previous year’s attendance records and served as a beacon of hope for mental wellness and suicide prevention efforts in Henry County. “The turnout shows our community’s dedication to mental health,” according to Callie Pierce, Health Educator at Henry County Health Department. “This walk would not be successful without the hard work, dedication, and love our amazing community partners pour into it each year.”
The Glow Walk not only provided vital resources but also fostered a sense of unity and hope, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated. If you or someone you know needs support now, call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org.
