Paris, Tenn.–A Henry County couple is being held on bonds of $800,000 each on charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

On Tuesday September 10, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received information from medical professionals of a two-month-old infant that was suffering from suspicious medical issues. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division along with Tennessee Department of Children Services initiated an investigation. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the two-month-old infant suffered from serious bodily injures that were “non-accidental”.

Sheriff Josh Frey said the infant is the child of Leah Michell Lee Zicot and Dalton Tyler Bennett.

On September 12, Leah Michell Lee Zicot and Dalton Tyler Bennett, both of 1295 Wimberly Road, were charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect. Officers believe that the infant child was in the care and custody of Zicot and Bennett while sustaining the injuries.

Zicot and Bennett are being held under a $800,000 bond each. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office CID is working jointly with the Tennessee Department of Children Services, and the 24th Judicial District Attorney Generals Office. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
