Paris, Tenn.–Tourism in Henry County continues to rise. By quite a bit.

Overall tourism related spending was up 8% from the previous year, according to Downtown Paris Association Executive Director Tara Wilson. Thanks to over $102 million dollars in tourism dollars spent in Henry County in 2023, each household saved almost $477 in taxes. This according to newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.

According to Rachel Steedly, Interim Director of the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, “Our community tourism efforts have truly been a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a shared vision for the betterment of our community. The increase in revenue is not just a number – it’s a reflection of the dedication, collaboration, and hard work of everyone involved. It’s exciting to see our efforts paying off, knowing that the tourism dollars we bring in are making a significant impact on our local economy.”

In addition to the Tennessee River Jam which continues to bring in visitors to the area for the multi-day festival, community partners have worked extensively to bring in multiple national fishing tournaments such as the Collegiate Big Bass Bash and Bassmasters College Series, a multi-day demolition derby, and youth boxing event, along with many other events that help drive tourism to our community.

Statewide, Tennessee tourism generated a record $30.6 billion in direct visitor spending and welcomed 144 million visitors to the state. For more information visit www.tnvacation.com.
