
Martin, Tenn.–A fantastic opportunity awaits the public as UT Martin welcomes civil rights legend, activist, and New York Times best-selling author Ruby Bridges.
At the age of 6, she was the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in Louisiana. Bridges’ bravery was depicted in the iconic Norman Rockwell painting that came to symbolize a chapter in the American school desegregation story.
