
Paris, Tenn.–A man with an active arrest warrant for attempted murder was taken into custody Saturday night after a coordinated effort involving the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies, searching on foot and in the air.
After four hours, Richard Sager was apprehended.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Cypress Rd and Otts Rd. after receiveing a tip that Richard Sager was seen in the area.
Sheriff Josh Frey said the sheriff’s office had active arrest warrants for Criminal Attempt to Commit 2nd Degree Murder which stemmed from an incident on a prior date.
Upon arrival at the location, officers did locate Sager’s vehicle and officers had reason to believe that Sager had fled on foot just prior to officers’ arrival.
Through a coordinated effort between the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, THP Aviation Unit, Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee State Park Rangers, and EMA, agencies set up a containment perimeter. After approximately four hours, Sager was taken into custody.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all agencies involved. Through the quick response of all agencies and the use of THP Aviation Unit and drone usage by EMA, law enforcement was able to apprehend Sager without incident.
