Paris, TN – The Paris Utility Authority (PUA) Board of Directors met for its regular monthly meeting on August 27.
The board approved contract labor bids to construct the 10-mile 69kV transmission line on Hwy 140 East between the Eagle Creek TVA delivery point and the Puryear substation. Groves Electrical Services, Madisonville, KY was awarded the contract with a low bid of $3,117,144.46. The project will be funded largely by a solar developer who will also be utilizing the transmission line to sell power back to TVA. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2025 and will take about one year to complete.
In other business, the Board approved a business insurance package with Public Entity Partners for the next twelve months and approved a revolving fund loan to Knott’s Wholesale Foods.
The September meeting of the Board is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
