Hummingbird Banding Event Set This Saturday

Dover, Tenn.–The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge is planning another Hummingbird Banding event, this time at the Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge in Dover.

Banding is this Saturday, August 24 from 8 – 11:30 am with a program starting at noon. They will be banding hummingbirds, grilling hotdogs, plus offering a nature book store and a chance to adopt a hummingbird. They hope to see you at Cross Creeks refuge this weekend!

This event will once again bring state and federally licensed and permitted bander Cyndi Routledge and her team from Southeastern Avian Research to conduct the banding at Cross Creeks NWR located at 643 Wildlife Road in Dover, TN. This event if FREE and included crafts and activities along with the main event of banding operations.

Hot dog lunches will be for sale for $5 and Hummingbird Adoptions for $10 as well as items from the Nature Book Store available
