Two Drown In Separate Incidents On Kentucky Lake Over Weekend

Marshall County, Ky.–Two people drowned in separate incidents this weekend on Kentucky Lake.

On Sunday, the Marshall County Rescue Squad was paged out at 6:06 p.m. on a report of two individuals jumping from a barge. Only one came back to surface. Boats were deployed from Kentucky Dam Marina. Upon deployment the Squad was able to locate the individual on sonar and deployed two divers from Marshall County Rescue Squad in the water.

On Saturday, a man went missing from a group near the Fenton Bay area, near the Eggners Ferry Bridge. According to Chief Kenny Pratt, the Marshall County team was already on the water for a training exercise when they received a call from the Kentucky State Police. The squad was able to recover the body in about 15 minutes.

The Marshall County Rescue Squad reported these were the fourth and fifth drownings they have handled this year.
