Paris, Tenn. — The Henry County Fairgrounds will come alive with the mouth-watering aroma of BBQ on Friday, August 9, as the annual fair kicks off with an all-day BBQ contest. This year’s fair, themed “A Week In Fair-a-Dise,” runs from August 9 through August 17.
Friday Events:
The BBQ Cook-Off setup will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with sauce and weiner entries due at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Food trucks, including Geeber’s and Perry’s BBQ, will arrive at 5 p.m. The evening will feature a dance at 7 p.m. with live music from the James Greer Band. During the dance, the Junior Fair Board will showcase their boot strutting skills. Additionally, a horse and mule pull event will be held in the arena at 7 p.m.
Saturday, August 10:
- 7 a.m.: 5K run and one-mile walk registration
- 8 a.m.: Run and walk start
- 10 a.m.: BBQ Pork judging
- 10:45 a.m.: BBQ Chicken judging
- 11:30 a.m.: BBQ Ribs judging
- 12:15 p.m.: BBQ Ribeye Steak judging
The day concludes with the USA Pullers Tractor Pull at 7 p.m., with admission set at $15 and free entry for children aged 5 and under.
Sunday, August 11:
2 p.m. 4-H Youth Grilling Cook-Off–Staci Foy
3-5 p.m. Youth Department Entries Accepted and Adult Department Accepted.
