Union City High School runners tuned up for the coming 2024 cross country season with a solid showing in the McKenzie Jamboree Tuesday.
Freshman Ainsley Sadler placed third among 24 girls in the two-mile race, while teammate Ainsley Beard was eighth and also medaled. Sadler turned in a time of 15:15, and Beard was clocked at 16:10.
Three UC boy runners earned medals among 46 participants. Rushdon Howell was fifth in the field at 11:47, Woodrow McKinnis came in seventh (11:56), and Andrew Beard placed 13th (13:17).
Wrigley Harder (15:28) and Tabor Hall (19:16) also competed.
Union City will open its regular season schedule next Tuesday at Dresden.
