Paris, Tenn.–Paris and Henry County basketball teams won national championships in the Reebok National Championship tournament. The tourney was held over three days and teams from all over the country competed, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Texas, Iowa, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Paris and Henry County had teams participate in the 3rd grade division, 5th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade and 16u divisions.
The Henry County Havoc 16u team won the national champs with a three point buzzer beater as time expired in overtime.
The Paris Heat also took home national championship trophy in the 3rd grade division by defeating a St. Louis team that had been undefeated.
Coach Adam Jenkins said it was an “amazing experience” for all the kids involved and that “the future looks bright” for Henry County basketball.
