Motorcyclist Loses Life In Calloway Co. Accident

Calloway County, Ky.–On Sunday at approximately 4:30pm, Calloway County 911 Communications Center dispatched Calloway County Fire & Resuce out to a two vehicle car accident with injuries involving a motorcycle.
Upon arrival of emergency personnel, the roadway was immediately shut down to all traffic.
The motorcycle and the driver, James P. Davis, was found in a ditch a few feet down an embankment. Calloway County Sheriff’s Office deputies and CCFR worked together to assist Murray-Calloway County EMS with getting to the patient so they could provide additional medical treatment.
Lifesaving measures were attempted by first responders and EMS on scene and while enroute to the hospital but Davis succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at Murray-Calloway County Hospital Emergency Room. Kentucky State Police was then notified by dispatch to respond to conduct an investigation.
According to CCSO’s press release, Davis was eastbound on Hwy 121 North and believed to have left his lane of travel into the oncoming lane on the motorcycle. He collided with a Ford Escort. There were no other injuries caused from the collision. Highway 121 North stayed blocked off to all traffic during this time for the investigation. The roadway was later reopened up around 8:15pm.
