Martin, Tenn.–No one was injured following a crash involving a pickup truck and a train in Martin this morning.

Earlier today, at approximately 12:11pm, the Martin Police Department received a call in reference to a vehicle striking a moving train car on Industrial Park Drive.

Police Chief Phillip Fuqua said, “Officers responded along with Martin Fire/Rescue to the location. It was discovered that a 2003 model Chevrolet pickup had failed to stop at the railroad crossing and struck a moving train car as it was traveling on the train track near Stanley Black and Decker.”

The train car was loaded with scrap metal and was not damaged during the crash. The pickup was being operated by Christopher D. Davidson, 35, of Martin. The train pushed the pickup off of the roadway and caused front end damge to the vehicle. No injuries were sustained during the crash.
