Paris, Tenn.–There soon will be new signage outside the Henry County 911 Building on Brewer St. honoring long-time Chairman John Etheridge.

911 Director Mark Archer displayed the plaque that will be placed on the wall at the entrance of the building at this week’s 911 Board meeting. At the March meeting, the board voted to name the building, “The John H. Etheridge Emergency Communications District and Emergency Management Center”.

Etheridge has served on the board since 1993, with much of the time as Chairman. Archer said the new signage will be installed across the top of the building shortly.

In other business, the board also discussed upcoming improvements to the local 911 system and approved the 2024-2025 budget.

Archer discussed projects that are in the offing for the 911 system, including a way to locate first responders when they are in trouble and/or unable to be reached by radio, which has happened locally.
