Omaha, Nebraska–They’re still talking about Hunter Ensley of Huntingdon avoiding the tag with that slide at homeplate Monday night.
The Tennessee Vols went on to win the National Championship against Texas A&M in the third game of the three-game series at Omaha.
Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler said, “Huntingdon kid gave it his all for that winning run tonight. Congratulations to the National Champion Vol Baseball team and to our guy Hunter Ensley.”
The National Champion Vols will be celebrated tonight in a parade at Market Square in Knoxville at 6:30 p.m.
