Mrs. Carolyn Toler Carter, age 85, of Mansfield, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Her funeral is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at McEvoy Funeral Home with close family friend, Dwayne Menzies to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Jake Allison, Carter Allison, Madden Allison, Jeremiah Marr, Josh Elkins, Derek Carter and Walter Kilpatrick.
Visitation for Mrs. Carter is scheduled on Tuesday, after 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
Carolyn Joyce Toler Carter was born September 30, 1938 to the late Earl Toler and the late Verbal Melton Toler. She married Terry F. Carter on April 20, 1957 and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1995. Carolyn is survived by her son, Jerry (Sheri) Carter of Mansfield; grandchildren, Derek (Paige) Carter, Katelynne (Jake) Allison, Jeremiah (Starr) Marr, Josh (Devon) Elkins; great grandchildren, Kaylee Marr, Braden, Livia and Cooper Carter, Carter, Madden, Knox and Wade Allison, Taylor, Ashlynn, Sam, and Bentley Elkins, and Blake Milliken.
Besides her parents and husband, Carolyn is also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Carter Davidson, a grandchild, Shea Davidson; a great grandchild, Jake Fowler; by four sisters, and one brother.
Mrs. Carter attended TVCC in Paris. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 60 years. Carolyn was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family and most especially her grandchildren.
