Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Deputy Steve Dean Jr. and his K9 Lincoln tracked a woman who fled from the scene of an accident early this morning. Lincoln tracked her down a highway and into a cornfield.
Dean said, “We got called to near the Kentucky state line last night on Hwy. 69N for a single vehicle wreck with unknown injury. The airbags had deployed. The officer who arrived on scene first stated that a female subject had fled from the scene prior to his arrival. I arrived on scene and due to the concern that she may be injured due to the wreck, decided to deploy Lincoln.”
Dean used a pair of pants he found in the front seat to give Lincoln the scent and they tracked south down Highway 69N approximately 4/10 of a mile. They came to the intersection of Terrapin Creek Rd where Lincoln cut to a cornfield on the southwest corner of the road. “Lincoln located the female subject in the cornfield. She did not have any apparent injuries,” Dean said.
