Henry, Tenn.–The Henry Volunteer Fire Department has announced it has received the final shipment of equipment acquired through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The AFG program is part of grants available through FEMA. Firefighters said, “With this shipment, we received 14 new extrication/wildland gear sets. Thanks to your support of our fundraisers, fire dues, the Henry County Helping Hand, and the Paris Board of Public Utilities Round Up program, we have successfully paid the ‘cost share’ for this grant, bringing the total grant amount to $104,000.00. We’ve been able to purchase this equipment along with battery-powered extrication equipment, stabilization struts, and more. This equipment has already proven to be an invaluable tool when extricating victims from vehicle accidents.” Henry VFD photo.
