HUNTINGDON, TN  – The Children’s Emergency Care Alliance of Tennessee honored the Baptist Priority Ambulance emergency medical services team in Carroll County with the Star of Life award at the 16th annual Star of Life ceremony and award reception.

The ceremony included a presentation of the real-life patient scenarios and reunited EMS

caregivers with the individuals they treated.

“We are grateful to receive this recognition from the Children’s Emergency Care Alliance of

Tennessee,” said Ricky Stafford, paramedic and Baptist Priority Ambulance operations supervisor in Carroll County. “Our Baptist Priority Ambulance teams work skillfully and diligently with hospital emergency staff to respond quickly and save lives.”

The Priority Ambulance team received the award for its response to a vehicle collision in

December 2023. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, The Carroll County Rescue Squad and Baptist Priority Ambulance were dispatched to the scene where six passengers, some of whom required extensive removal from vehicles, were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County with varying levels of injuries. The EMS crews collaborated with Vanderbilt Life Flight 8 to transport several patients to Nashville while simultaneously stabilizing a patient who needed immediate care for head and facial injuries.
