Cottage Grove, Tenn.–The second meeting of the month for the Henry County Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol at the Henry County Airport was not a typical meeting. This was their Family Fun Day, full of you guessed it: family, friends, and fun.
The cadets (and a few adult members) played wiffle ball, kickball and corn hole ALL day long. There was plenty of delicious food, since everyone (60+ people) brought something to share.
The highlight of the day was when a Black Hawk helicopter from the Tennessee National Guard from the Army Aviation Support Facility #3 in Jackson swooped in for a visit. The cadets were smiling from ear to ear as they explored the helicopter. The cadets were sad to see that Black Hawk leave, yet the pilots surprised them all by coming back for fly over.
