Dover, Tenn.–Electric utility crews have completed the cleanup and reinstallation of power lines, permitting National Park Service to reopen access to the Fort Donelson National Cemetery for the remainder of the Memorial Day holiday.
Severe weather on Sunday downed multiple powerlines within the Fort Donelson National Cemetery, requiring closure of the cemetery to public access and the change of venue of the annual Memorial Day observance to the nearby Stewart County Visitor Center.
Daily vehicle access to the national cemetery and national battlefield is from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with park grounds accessible to sunset.
