
Murray, Ky.–Calloway County Fire & Rescue was out all day and still going strong during the night, fielding emergency calls.
CCFR has had over 135 calls for service already at the time of this press release at 7 pm today, with many calls involving trees down across roadways, three calls involving trees on top of occupied vehicles, one call involving a tree on top of house causing injury to the homeowner and one water rescue call involving an occupied vehicle that was swept off the roadway into flood waters.
Officials said, “We had multiple roads this morning that were impassable due to so many trees down causing slow response to other emergencies. We have had 9 brush trucks and 3 support trucks as well many many fire personnel running all day all throughout our county cutting trees out the roads as well as assisting EMS on calls when needed. We want to say thank you to all our dedicated members for their hard work today serving our county. Our department will still stand ready to respond for the rest of the evening and throughout the night as another stronger round of storms is set to come through Calloway County tonight.
