Jona Carolyn Tyler, 81, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Charter Senior Living in Paris, Tennessee.
Jona was born Friday, December 11, 1942, in Henry County, Tennessee, to the late Theron Leon Williams and the late Gearldyne Moody Williams.
She was a member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church.
Jona formerly worked at Salant & Salant and Holley Carburetor. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing and yardwork.
She was married for over 40 years to Hugh Tyler, and he preceded her in death Sunday, November 21, 2021.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister: Betty Jearl Roberson; and two brothers: Tommy Harold Williams and Larry Daniel Williams, Sr.
Jona is survived by her son: Matthew (Jennifer) Tyler, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee; three sisters: Dian Terry, of Dover, Tennessee, Brenda (Joel) Sutton, of South Carolina, Penny (Steve) Vance, of Florida; and one brother: Allen Leon (Nellie) Williams of Paris, Tennessee.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.
Visitation will be Saturday May 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with her funeral service to be held at 2:30 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Mike Waddey officiating.
David Roberson, Darren Roberson, Kevin Bomar, Nic Fields, Johnathan Hawbaker and Opie Hawbaker will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, Tennessee.
