Union City, TENN. — LIFELINE Blood Services will be hosting an exciting friendly competition that will help them save lives.
LIFELINE has partnered with Baptist Memorial Hospital and will be hosting a “Healthcare VS Teachers” blood drive on Friday, May 17th. From 1 P.M. to 7 P.M., LIFELINE encourages all healthcare workers and teachers to give the gift of life by donating blood on the LIFELINE bloodmobile.
This blood drive aims to encourage some friendly competition and make donating blood a priority. “Blood donation directly impacts our patients here at Baptist Memorial Hospital. By hosting this blood drive, we hope the community engages in the competition and donates to a great cause,” says Erica Miller, Laboratory Director at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
“Often, we are called to help others. However, we don’t always know how. Blood donation is one of the easiest ways you can help others right here in your own community,” shares Ashley Crowther, Donor Recruiter with LIFELINE Blood Services.
Baptist Memorial Hospital is located at 1201 Bishop Street in Union City, Tenn. Donations made with LIFELINE Blood Services make a local impact for patients in 21 counties in West Tenn.
LIFELINE provides blood services to 21 West Tennessee counties, including 17 hospitals and 21 emergency helicopter service locations and 1 ground ambulance service. Annually, the Center collects approximately 26,000 blood products (red cell units, platelets, plasma, etc.) to meet the needs of patients. Of that total, 75% of those products are usually collected on the bloodmobiles across West Tennessee. LIFELINE also provides reference lab and cross-matching services to healthcare facilities.
