Felon Found With Loaded Rifle, Police Equipment, Meth

Dyersburg, Tenn.–Agents out of the 29th Judicial District in Dyersburg along with investigators with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office  were serving an arrest warrant in Dyersburg and found a felon hidden in his house and several items, such as a loaded rifle, rifle magazines, bulletproof vest, police baton, ammo, handcuffs, scanner, red and blue light and meth.
The subject had hidden himself in his house on 1st Avenue and agents made entry to make the arrest. While searching for the subject inside, a loaded rifle was found in the subjects bedroom. The subject who was on probation, had 9 prior felony convictions. A probation search conducted on the home resulted in the seizure of additional rifle magazines, a vest, handcuffs, a police baton, ammunition, police scanner, a red and blue light, and approximately 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Task Force Director Johnie Carter said, “Felons with guns and drugs are bad enough, add the possession of these police related items and I can only imagine what potential crime(s) these astute Agents and Investigators may have prevented.”
One male was arrested and charged with numerous felonies including possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony and felon in possession of a weapon. The office of the District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District, Danny Goodman, Jr. is prosecuting this case.
