Paris, Tenn.–On the opening night, the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Fish Tent served 1,100 fish dinners and Paris-Henry County Jaycees were VERY happy with the turnout. People started lining up over an hour before the Fish Tent opened and the line snaked its way to the parking lot.

Organizers Smokey Taylor and Tater Hayes thanked all the sponsors and volunteers who make the Fish Tent operate like a well-oiled machine every year.

Hostess Princess Abby Smith threw a perfect toss of the first hush puppy to her father, James Smith, to officially open the Fish Tent at the fairgrounds.

Pepsi representative Ricky Price introduced everyone to his boss Harry L. Crisp of Marion, Ill., who presented a plaque of appreciation to the Jaycees and the Fish Fry. Crisp stayed and sampled a fish dinner and gave it a thumbs up. “We’re glad to be part of all this,” he said.

Fish plates are fresh fried catfish, hushpuppies, French fries, white beans, slaw and drink. All You Can Eat for $20 adults; $12, children 6-12.

The Fish Tent is open through Saturday. The Arts and Carfts Show and carnival also are open, also at the fairgrounds.
