Horace K. (Pete) Oliver

Horace K. (Pete) Oliver, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the age of 87.

He was born Friday, November 6, 1936, in Lebanon, Tennessee, to his loving parents, Roberal Eldwood Oliver and Louella Wrather Oliver. Pete shared a special bond with his late siblings: Ervin, Roberal, Bee, Perry, Fulton, Dayton, Carl, Ophelia, Sally, and Carlene.

Pete was a dedicated member of Big Rock Baptist Church in Big Rock, Tennessee. He retired from the National Asbestos Workers local 86 in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and loyalty.

Pete Oliver’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire generations to come. His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.

He was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife: Donna Kingins Oliver, and a father to children: Fay Oliver Presley (Tommy), Jeff Oliver, and Johnny Oliver, all residing in Lebanon, Tennessee. He was also a grandfather to seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pete was a stepfather to Debbie Mathis, of Scottsboro, Alabama, Natalie York (Tim), of Dover, Tennessee, and Trent Knott (Dana), of Clarksville, Tennessee. Pete has seven step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren, and two deceased step-great grandchildren.

He found immense joy in his family, and his love and wisdom will forever be cherished by them.

In addition to his immediate family, Pete leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Big Rock Baptist Church or American Cancer Society – Memorial Hope Lodge, Nashville, Tennessee.

The funeral service honoring Pete’s life will be officiated by two of his grandsons: Ronnie Presley and Chase Knott, at Anglin Funeral Home in Dover, Tennessee, Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be at the Miles Cemetery, 970 Antioch Rd, Dover, Tennessee.
