Buchanan, Tenn.–Last week Gina Lowry and Tim Caldwell of the Paris Landing State Park helped the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency rescue an Eaglet after the nest was destroyed from a storm.
There were three eaglets in total in the nest. One eaglet was able to perch and was uninjured. One eaglet didn’t survive and the third was taken to the Memphis Zoo Aviary Rehabilitation Center.
After being evaluated and banded, TWRA Sgt. John Dunn, released it back to the area with its surviving sibling and parents.
Paris Landing officials said, “Thanks to the owners of the Flowers Farm in Springville for notifying us about the injured eaglet and allowing the release back on their farm.”
Due to the nest being destroyed we placed the eaglet on a platform stand. Mom was circling over, watching the release.
