
Union City, Tenn.–Obion County Schools is proud to showcase its new Career and Technical Education vehicles which were purchased with Innovative School Models (ISM) funds. ISM grant funds were allocated by Gov. Lee to “reimagine learning and give students access to transformative educational opportunities in middle school and high school.” These vehicles were obtained with no funding from the district’s operating budget. Special thank you to Mr. Brad Warner at Herman Jenkins Motors, who was the winning bidder for each vehicle.
Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban-
These SUVs will be used to transport students to work-based learning placements, college and industry tours, and student leadership events such as FFA, HOSA, and SkillsUSA. Other school groups may also use the vehicles for traveling to conferences and student competitions.
Jeep Grand Cherokee-
This is used by the district-wide Career Specialist to travel from school to school as she directs career exploration activities, coordinates college and industry tours, and works with community partners to spread career awareness to students.
Chevy Silverado pickup-
This is used to haul materials for all school programs, such as hay and feed for animals in Ag programs at both high schools, and metal and wood supplies for welding and carpentry. It can be used to pull trailers for delivering materials to schools and throughout the community.
