Paris, Tenn.–The Paris Henry County Arts Council has honored Dr. Danny and Martha Jo Kimberlin for their support of the annual Photo Showcase by naming it after the couple.
This year’s Annual Dr. Danny and Martha Jo Kimberlin Photo Showcase is a milestone event that marks the couple’s 32 years of support for the local arts.
Arts Council President Caleb Grissom said, “In recognition of their esteemed sponsorship, the Arts Council Board has decided to name the event after Dr. Danny and Martha Jo Kimberlin, honoring their remarkable legacy and profound impact on the Paris Henry County community.”
This year’s Photo Showcase starts May 5 with a reception for the winners from 2-4 p.m. at the W.G. Rhea Library in Paris.
Dr. Danny Kimberlin’s journey to Henry County began in 1990 when he joined the Henry County Medical Center as one of the county’s obstetricians. Leaving behind his previous practice in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Dr. Kimberlin was drawn to Henry County by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his patients and the community as a whole. Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Kimberlin delivered more than 10,000 babies, forming deep and lasting bonds with countless families along the way.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kimberlin’s passion for travel and photography has been a source of inspiration and joy. His extensive travels to 108 countries, all 7 continents, and all 50 states have provided him with a wealth of experiences and perspectives that he has generously shared through his photography. Dr. Kimberlin’s commitment to capturing the beauty and diversity of the world around him serves as a testament to his creative spirit and artistic vision.
Despite his demanding schedule as an obstetrician, Dr. Kimberlin always found time to support the arts and cultural initiatives in Paris Henry County. His and Martha Jo’s sponsorship of the Photo Showcase since its inception has been instrumental in the event’s success and growth over the years. The show started with approximately 40 entries and in the last several years has reached 160 entries! Their unwavering dedication to the arts community has enriched the lives of countless individuals and has helped foster a vibrant creative culture in the region.
The 32nd Annual Dr. Danny and Martha Jo Kimberlin Photo Showcase will feature a diverse selection of photographs from local and regional artists, celebrating the power of photography to capture the beauty and essence of the world around us. The showcase is open to the public, and all are invited to attend and celebrate the Kimberlins’ contributions to the community.
