Hickman City, Ky.–A Union City man has been arrested for the armed robbery of a wine store in Hickman.
Kentucky State Police Post 1 detectives have identified and charged the suspect of the armed robbery that occurred at the Wine Cellar II in Hickman City on February 7, 2024.
The suspect has been identified as Mario Williams, 40 years old of Union City. KSP Post 1 detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest for the offense of Robbery 1st Degree. Williams was subsequently arrested in Union City, on March 24, 2024 and has since been extradited to Kentucky where he remains lodged in the Fulton County Jail.

Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 1 is investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Hickman City just after 8:00pm CT on February 7. Hickman City Police received a call from Wine Cellar II on South 7th Street in the city limits of Hickman reporting the robbery immediately after it occurred. Hickman City Police then requested KSP to investigate the incident.
Initial investigation revealed that a black male entered the liquor store and approached the employees behind the counter. He displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. After taking the money from the cash register, the male also took a bottle of liquor and left the store. The suspect was operating a white SUV believed to be a Ford Edge or Ford Escape. The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a white face mask, and a white glove on one hand. Nobody was injured during the course of the robbery.
