Paris, Tenn.–Paris Board of Public Utilities reported a healthy net income for the month of February in all departments that reflected the increased sales due to the extreme cold weather experienced here during an eight-day span in January. Wimberley also reported that the Water Department received a perfect score of 100 percent for the third year in a row during its TDEC audit.
President/CEO Terry Wimberley gave the report to the Paris Utility Authority (PUA) Board of Directors at its Tuesday meeting.
In his President’s report, Wimberley shared the results of a recent TDEC audit of the Water Department. Every three years, TDEC does a records review to document operational performance of the water system including the treatment process as well as distribution system. Paris BPU earned 599 points out of a possible 599 total points for a score of 100%. The results mark the third survey in a row with a perfect score of 100%. Wimberley expressed praise for Vice President of Water and Wastewater Operations, Tony Brown and the entire Water Department staff for their outstanding performance over the last decade and beyond.
The Board gave approval to chemical rehabilitation of one of three water wells that provide raw water to the treatment plant. Fouling of the well was noted during recent tests resulting in the needed rehab. The project will be completed by Layne who has done Paris BPU well work for decades. Following the rehab, the well is scheduled to be back in service by early May.
