| Union City, Tenn.–The Discovery Park of America’s annual Cardboard Boat Regatta will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Start making your plans now for this exciting race on the South Lake at Discovery Park. Boats can only be made out of cardboard and duct tape – nothing more. They are adding a category this year. In addition to the adults and youth race, there will also be an instant cardboard boat regatta where teams build their boats on site the day of. In this division, teams will have an allotted time of 90 minutes to build their boat.
This is a great way for STEM/STEAM clubs, students, businesses and more to sharpen skills in designing and building boats for the ultimate test in the water.
Registration is free for student teams (ages 12-18). For all other teams (adults and adult/youth), it is $25 through May 3, 2024, and $35 from May 4, 2024 until race day. The registration fee includes participation and park admission for up to 4 team members.
All Scouts in uniform receive FREE admission. |
