Gertie “Sissy” Shaffer, 70, of Paris, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at AHC of Paris.
Sissy was born Monday, June 29, 1953, in Wyoming to the late Alfred W. Shaffer and the late Martha Smith Shaffer. Besides her parents, Ms. Shaffer is also preceded in death by a son: Alfred “Alfie” Shafferm who died Thursday, August 19, 2010, and by her sister: Mary Jo Page.
She is survived by her sons: Nathan (Patty) Shaffer, of Paris, and Elliot Neal, of Altus, Arkansas; grandchildren: Jaylund Neal, Victoria Neal, Andrew Shaffer, Brandon Johnson, Faith Shaffer, Jonathan Climer, and Kristina Mahr; four great-grandchildren; brother: James Shaffer, of Arkansas; and by several nieces and nephews, including special niece: Sherry Hicks.
Her memorial celebration of life is planned for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Stephen England officiating.
Visitation with the family is scheduled after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
