Carmelita Denise Inniss

Mrs. Carmelita Denise Inniss, 67, of Union City, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the home of her son, Perry Jackson, of Jackson.
Carmelita was born Thursday, November 22, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Barbara Ann (Nelson) Irby, of Murray, Kentucky, and the late James Irby.
She was a member of Truelight Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois, where she was baptized at the age of 13.
She attended Dunbar Elementary School, East Side High School and State College all in East St. Louis, Illinois.
She worked 30 years as a CNA, private duty home care nurse in California and retired after 10 years from West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin.
She married Charles D. Inniss, Sr., Thursday, August 22, 1985.  He passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021. She was also preceded in death by one son: Conrad Inniss.
She is survived by three daughters: Jessica Osborne, of Union City, Seraphina Inniss, of West Africa, and Brittany Inniss, of Union City; four sons: Charles Inniss, Jr., of West Africa, Corye Thomas, of Union City, Perry Jackson and wife Starla, of Jackson, and Fredrick Thomas, of Salinas, California; two brothers: Cedric Irby, Sr. and wife Sharon, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, and Reginald Irby, of Paducah, Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Cedric Irby, Sr. will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, and after 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
